"Ice Ice Baby" - Vanilla Ice

El Calafate was a great place to start our adventure in Patagonia. We land in an airport where there was absolutely nothing but water or land as far as you could see. I was surprised to land on a paved airstrip to be honest. We bused into el calafate and couldn't help but get excited. It was so beautiful and you could see mountains with snow covering them. We got checked in at the hostel and made our way around the quaint little town to get dinner. The sun didn't set till around 10!

Our view on our drive to the park
The next morning was the real adventure. We did a day tour to the Parques Nacionales Los Glaciares. We tracked by the water and saw the beautiful Glacier Perito Moreno. It was huge and beautiful and blue. The face we could see was 5 km wide and averaged 50 m high. The whole thing is roughly the size of Buenos Aires! It moves an average of 2 meters a day so we got to walk around the park and watch huge slabs of ice crash into the lake. It was so awesome. Note the pictures.

We got back to the hostel and made plans for our next big adventure. We are heading south into Chile to Puerto Natalas to gear up and hike around Torres del Paine!

Calafate berries. If you eat them then you must come back to Patagonia....

Wild horses

This goat really liked Kelsey.

Trekking to the glacier

The airport. Like I said, nothing around
